Saint Andrew the Apostle
Antiochian Orthodox Christian Mission
Sussex County, Delaware
We are a mission of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese
And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. (Act 11:26)
Troparion of Saint Andrew - November 30th (Tone 4):
| As
the first-called Apostle and brother of their leader, O Andrew;
intercede with the Master of all to grant peace to the world, and to
our souls great mercy. |
Prayer Before the icon of the Theotokos:
| Since thou art a
well-spring of tenderness, O Theotokos, make us worthy of compassion;
Look upon a sinful people; Manifest thy power as ever, for hoping on
thee we cry aloud unto thee: Hail! as once did Gabriel, chief Captain
of the Bodiless Powers. |
Prayer Before the icon of Christ (Tone 2):
| We reverence thy
spotless icon, O gracious Lord, and ask forgiveness of our
transgressions, O Christ our God: for of thine own good will thou wast
pleased to ascend the Cross in the flesh, that thou mightest deliver
from bondage to the enemy those whom thou hadst fashioned. Wherefore,
we cry aloud unto Thee: Thou hast filled all things with joy, O our
Savior, for Thou didst come to save the world. |
Troparion of the Forerunner (Tone 2):
| The memory of the just is mentioned with praise. As for you, O
Forerunner, the Lord's witness is enough: indeed, you were greater than the
prophets since you were found worthy to baptize in the waters the one they could
but announce. You have fought for the sake of truth and proclaimed to those in
hades that God who appeared in the flesh has taken away the sins of the world
and bestowed his great mercy upon us.. |

Our mission is to gather together to worship and serve the Most Holy Trinity, and to heed Christ's command to "teach
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever
I have commanded" (Matthew 28:19-20). We seek to grow in the
faith and worship as set forth by the Orthodox faithful of the last
twenty centuries. We desire greatly to establish our children in the
Orthodox faith, passing on to them a love for Christ and His Church. We
uphold one another by prayer, fellowship, and by the service of our
time, talents and money for Christ and His Holy Church.
By God's grace, we seek to found a
faithful community of worship in southern
Delaware. We are under the jurisdiction of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. All services are in English. If
you desire to worship and serve Christ in this endeavor, please contact
us at the telephone and e-mail address above. We invite you to join us!
